Asking for Directions - வழிகள் மற்றும் இடங்கள் | PART-4

வணக்கம்! When you are in a new city, knowing how to ask for directions is very important. Today we will learn the words for "Left", "Right", and how to ask "Where is...?"

1. Basic Directions (திசைகள்)

English: Left

Tamil: இடது பக்கம் (Idadhu)

Hindi: Baayen (बायें)

English: Right

Tamil: வலது பக்கம் (Valadhu)

Hindi: Daayen (दायें)

English: Straight

Tamil: நேராக (Neraaga)

Hindi: Seedha (सीधा)

2. Asking "Where is...?" (எங்கே இருக்கிறது?)

In Hindi, the word for "Where" is "Kahan".

Example 1: Where is the Hotel?
Tamil: ஹோட்டல் எங்கே இருக்கிறது?
Hindi: Hotel kahan hai?

Example 2: Where is the Railway Station?
Tamil: ரயில் நிலையம் எங்கே இருக்கிறது?
Hindi: Railway station kahan hai?

Example 3: Go Straight and then turn Left.
Tamil: நேராக சென்று பின் இடது பக்கம் திரும்பவும்.
Hindi: Seedha jaaiye aur phir baayen mudiye.

3. Useful Places (முக்கிய இடங்கள்)

🏠 Ghar - வீடு (House)
🛒 Dukaan - கடை (Shop)
🏥 Aspataal - மருத்துவமனை (Hospital)
🚻 Shauchalay - கழிப்பறை (Toilet)

💡 Speaking Tip: If you forget the Hindi word for a place (like Hospital), just use the English word. Most people in India will understand "Hospital kahan hai?" perfectly!
